Hello and thank you for the welcome

Thank you all for the welcome into the By Brook community.  I’m Reverend Marc Terry and on the 5th June at St Mary’s Grittleton I was licensed as the Priest-in-Charge (Rector Designate) for the Benefice of Bybrook, covering the ten parishes in the local community.

Shelly and I moved into Yatton Keynell in May with our young daughter Phoebe, who celebrated her third birthday here in June.

My earlier life was very much a career in the banking sector, working in Management Information and volunteering in my local church in my spare time.  I followed a call into ordained ministry in my late twenties and trained for ministry at Trinity College Bristol.

Shelly was born and raised in Bristol and later worked at Trinity College Bristol, where we met.  We married in 2010, before moving to Kent and starting our family.

We have moved from rural Kent in Canterbury Diocese and have been thoroughly welcomed by the community here – even before our arrival.

I’m very much looking forward to sharing in the life, ministry and worship of the churches of Bybrook and their communities as we connect with God and each other to make the love of Jesus known.

In our time off we’ll be found exploring the parks, burning off the food from the local eateries!

With love and thanks

Reverend Marc Terry
