On Monday 2nd April, we will once again be holding the annual Easter Monday walk around a large part of the Benefice, starting 9.30am, outside St. Margaret’s Church, Yatton Keynell. Lunch will be available at West Kington Church, usually homemade soup, rolls and delicious brownies, kindly provided and served by the ladies of the parish. Donations around £5.00 please.
The walk includes the villages and hamlets of Long Dean, Castle Combe, Nettleton, West Kington, Ford, Slaughterford and Biddestone. Approximately 13.5 miles, almost entirely on gentle footpaths through the woods and across fields. Also, age is no constraint … you can walk as little or as long as you wish, or, just join us for lunch.
This Easter walk first took place on a Saturday, April 6th 1991, entitled ‘The Great Six Parishes Easter Walk’. So this is our 27th year.
An ideal opportunity to explore the area and get to know neighbours from home and other villages, but be prepared for a little mud.
