MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING
On Friday 30th September from 9 till 12, we will again be holding a coffee morning at Castle Combe Village Hall, in support of Macmillan. This wonderful charity has directly touched the lives of people in the village this year, and with your support, we hope to make this event an even greater success than last year. Even better, it’s not onerous!! Come, bring friends, munch your body weight in cake, and donate what you can.

Kington St Michael Teddy Challenge
Sunday 18th September 3-5pm at St Michaels Church, Kington St Michael.
Come and watch your teddy parachute from the church tower – certificates awarded to all brave bears and a prize for the best dressed bear ! Followed by beautiful birds of prey free flying in the church – a rare chance to see the birds close up.
Enjoy a cream tea, face painting, teddy stall and bring and buy.
All proceeds to church funds.
We very much look forward to seeing you there.
Prayer to use during the vacancy
The Ministry Team has developed the following prayer for use at services and church meetings during the current vacancy period which we invite you to use.
Heavenly Father,
During this vacancy,
guard and grow this Benefice as we serve you together
in this period without a Priest in Charge.
Lord Jesus,
We know that you have plans for us
and that these plans are good.
We ask now that you will help us to share responsibility,
grow in faith, love one another, care for those in need,
reach out to others, and welcome newcomers.
Holy Spirit,
Please guide those who are seeking the right person for us,
and those who are seeking the right place for their ministry,
that together we may discover your way for the future
and see your kingdom grow.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Bybrook Refugee Crisis Support Network Update 7
Dear all,
Please find attached an update on the situation regarding refugee families, particularly those settling in our area. There is also some information if you are interested in looking after unaccompanied children – lighter touch checks for prospective foster carers of refugees are planned.
Housing is becoming a big issue which is also explained along with information on how you can make a financial donation to support Syrian refugee families in Wiltshire.
I would be very grateful if you could forward this information to any individuals or groups that you are part of. The more people who know of the current needs, the better so that we can find the help which is needed.
Many thanks for your continued support of these families who have suffered so much but who are striving to make the very best of the new opportunities they have been offered.
Apologies if you receive this email more than once!
Best wishes
Julia Howey
